OUR
PROGRAMS
Pink Helping Hand Program
The United Colors of Pink (UCP) is an organization devoted to helping others. Our volunteer-based non-profit organizes fundraisers to collect money from donors in order to distribute these means among people affected by breast cancer. UCP, per its Bylaws, pledges to distribute funds annually to people in need after carefully reviewing each case.

-
To be considered for the Pink Giving Hand Assistance proof from a doctor about active treatment is required.
-
UCP holds the right to verify the validity of each petition, such as requesting the original MD or therapist's note in accordance with the guidelines within HIPAA rules.
-
UCP will share its funds with petitioners on a first-come-first-serve basis.
-
Funds will be given only until they are exhausted on the day of petitioning to no less than $5000 of UCP savings. This amount will be reviewed annually or adjusted based on UCP's current operating needs. This amount always needs to remain in the UCP account.

Breast Thermography Screening
Breast thermography is a non-invasive, radiation-free, compression-free test of physiology. It is a valuable procedure for alerting your doctor to changes that can indicate early-stage breast disease.

Digital thermography uses a special infrared camera to detect skin temperature from the human body. Thermography can detect the subtle physiologic changes that accompany breast pathology, whether it is a fibrocystic disease, vascular disease, cancer, or an infection from your mouth invading your breast. When used adjunctively with other procedures the best possible evaluation of breast health is made.

In 1982, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved thermography as a screening aid in the diagnosis of breast cancer. Thermography does not replace a mammogram or any other diagnostic device or examination. More information at www.illinoisthermography.com.

!!! It is recommended to schedule your screening before your first COVID-19 vaccination or 4-6 week after the 2nd dose. Research has found the COVID-19 vaccination may cause temporarily enlarged lymph nodes that can appear on your thermography screening. !!!

Please check our calendar for the upcoming breast thermography screening.
